I want to turn off the trackpad. Permanently.

I've tried settings/devices and apps/uninstall.

Nothing under devices setting does anything for it.

Once, under apps/uninstall, I clicked terminate, and that worked until the next restart. Now, the terminate option no longer appears.

I want it dead, done, and gone, forever. Surely there must be a way?

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there, I made an account basically just to help you.

You can first try this website:[edit]

For me. Method 3 worked the best. - Disable Touchpad when Mouse is Connected via Registry

1.Press Windows key + R and type regedit and hit Enter.

2.Once the Registry Editor opens, you need to navigate to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh

3.Now you need to right-click on DisableIntPDFeature under the right window pane and select Modify.

> I did have to do this >> Note: If you can’t find DisableIntPDFeature DWORD then you need to create one. Right-click on SynTPEnh then select New > DWORD (32-bit) value.

4.Name this DWORD as DisableIntPDFeature and then double click on it to change its value.

5.Make sure that Hexadecimal is selected under Base then change its value to 33 and click OK.

6.Reboot your PC to save changes.

In my case, after the reboot, I went to Control Panel > Mouse Properties > Device Settings

There I found Standard Pointing Device  this is the trackpad. It finally had a Disable button, so I clicked that.  A warning pop-up appeared that said You are about to disable the only active Synaptics pointing device.  Click Ok.  The trackpad is now disabled.  You can enable it again by going to the same window, selecting the same decive and clicking Enable.

I do hope this helps you.
