My HP pavilion laptop's mouse pad has become uneven. The left bottom side dips by about 1-2mm. Hasn't affected my usage too much but it annoys me at times. Took it to a HP service center. Dude said it's fine, use it like that. But it's not fine! Takes 5k INR to replace the mouse pad and idek if that'll fix the issue. Any other suggestions??

Hi @tamburo,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an uneven mouse pad on a laptop. It can be quite annoying, especially if it affects your typing or mouse use.
Here are a few things you might try before considering a replacement:
- Check for Loose Screws: Sometimes, unevenness can be due to loose screws under the mouse pad. If you're comfortable with it, you could try removing the laptop’s bottom panel and tightening any screws that hold the mouse pad in place. Make sure to power off and unplug your laptop before doing this.
- Inspect for Debris: Check if there’s any debris or foreign objects that might be causing the unevenness. Gently clean around the mouse pad area with a soft brush or compressed air.
- Use a Laptop Cooling Pad: A cooling pad can sometimes help distribute pressure more evenly on your laptop and might slightly help with the unevenness.
- Try a Mouse Pad: If the unevenness is causing discomfort or affecting your usage, you might consider using an external mouse with a separate mouse pad. This can be a temporary or permanent solution depending on your preference.
- Apply Gentle Pressure: If the unevenness is minor, applying gentle, even pressure to the area might help. Place a soft cloth on the mouse pad and gently press down for a few minutes. Be cautious with this approach to avoid causing any damage.
