Hi,

I am trying to find the right RAM to upgrade my HP Laptop - 17-by3613dx , however the Crucial app doesn't identify my computer anymore. With RAM prices going up so much and many components becoming hard to find due to age of the machine and general scarcity, I really need to know exactly which chip to buy.

Here are some options which might possibly work, but I wanted to be sure before going ahead and purchasing them:

Crucial 8GB DDR4 2666 MHz PC4-21300 SODIMM 260-Pin Laptop Memory CT8G4SFS8266

Crucial DDR4 8GB 2666MHz SO-DIMM RAM PC4-21300 Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA266
Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 2666 MHz CL19 Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA266

Crucial 16GB Kit (8GB x 2) DDR4 2666 MT/s (PC4-21300) SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT2K8G4SFRA266

Crucial 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 SODIMM RAM PC4-21300 Laptop Memory CT16G4SFRA266

Any help identifying the correct chip would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if any further information is required!

Thank you!

@Secuaz,

The parts list for your model indicates your model has 1x8 GB DDR4-2666 RAM.

HP PartSurfer

You should be able to install another 8 GB module in a second slot.

Since your model has an Intel Core 10th gen processor, your device may support more than 16 GB.

Click the link below and run the wmic command for the max RAM of your notebook.

2 Steps to Check Maximum RAM Capacity of Your Computer

If it reports 32 GB, your model likely supports 2x16 GB.

It's an excellent choice to use Crucial 8 GB or 16 GB module.
