How do I know which battery to buy to replace the very weak one in my laptop

My battery needs replacing. Where do I get the correct battery from? And how do I know which battery is compatible?

Enter the serial number of your notebook in the search window at the link below, and it should give you a parts list.

HP PartSurfer

Hopefully, the battery part number and description will be listed.

Then you can check to see if HP sells the battery you need at the link below by entering the part number.

If HP does not sell the battery, you will have to search by the HP battery part number and find a compatible aftermarket battery on Amazon or eBay for example.

Chapter 3 lists two available batteries used in the model series which is why I recommend you check the parts list to see which of the two your notebook uses.
