I know & I agree that clean install is always better but it's just too much of time & effort consuming. During win7 days I used to actually format every year. But now with so huge windows size, updates, drivers, software it takes ages to start using the laptop again. But I will do it cleanly for sure. I have created a USB recovery drive as soon as received my laptop. not sure if the keys will be also automatically reinstalled since I couldn't find it nor could I find that tool which shows product keys

I do a little every day..
First day backup ur data to either an external usb or 2nd internal drive..
Second day do clean install of windows and drivers
Third day install software that u wrote on a paper to remember what programs u like
Fourth day copy ur data back and fine tune ur new pc that's now running perfect

had exakly same issue. but got it finaly solved with that i was build a windows dvd and was make a usb storage for bootup and made on this way it posible that my old pavilion dv6 have from now on only ssd as a hard drive and it is also from samsung.
wasnt easy but its posible to do a ssd into an old notebook like my pavilion.
