You're very welcome.

Your notebook has one memory slot, and the max memory the slot can support according to chapter 1 of the service manual is 1 x 8 GB.

Now if you want to experiment to see if 1 x 16 GB of memory might work, run this command:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

You will be fine with the Samsung 870 2.5" SATA SSD.

Also look into the Western Digital Blue 2.5" 500 GB SSD which would have the same performance but may cost a bit less than the Samsung 870.

Amazon.com: Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SA510 SATA Internal Solid State Drive SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/...

You will not need to purchase any additional parts but the memory and SSD.

You remove the 2.5" mechanical hard drive and use the same parts to connect the 2.5" SSD that the hard drive used.

Hi:

The number of memory slots is dependent on what model AMD processor your notebook comes with.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info.

I have the AMD DUAL core E2 series processor. It say E2-9000e (1.5 GHz, turbo up to 2.0GHz) 1866 MHz/1 MB L2 cache, dual core, 6 W. I was looking to upgrade with Samsung Electronics 870 EVO 500GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-77E500B/AM) and at least one, if not two, Samsung M471A2K43CB1-CRC 16GB DDR4 2400MHz Memory Module. Is this a one or two slot and would I need to purchase any additional wires, cables, etc for installation? Thank you so much for the help.

I have a follow up question when I took my laptop and parts to BestBuy/GeekSquad they stated they couldn't install because harddrive being saudered to motherboard. How/where can I get this installed? With current status I can't even update Windows.

Hi:

You didn't tell me that you were not replacing a 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

Your notebook must have the 32 GB or 64 GB eMMC drive, which are soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded or replaced.

You can't upgrade the hard drive.

If you can't do any updates, I recommend you back up any files you need to save onto a portable hard drive, reinstall Windows and use a SD card to store any files you have to the SD card and not on the drive.

I have a HP notebook with one of those drives too.  Mine is 64 GB, so I have a little more room for things if your notebook only has a 32 GB eMMC drive.

I periodically use this free software to delete junk files from the drive.

Wise Disk Cleaner - Free Disk Cleanup and Defrag Tool (wisecleaner.com)

I also run the Windows disk cleanup utility and select the button to cleanup system files on the lower left corner of the window.

Then I check all of the boxes to delete files when the window appears again.

I'm sorry. I'm not understanding. So plan to upgrade with Samsung Electronics 870 EVO 500GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-77E500B/AM) and at least one, if not two, Samsung M471A2K43CB1-CRC 16GB DDR4 2400MHz Memory Module. So neither of these can be updated with my laptop?
