Hi:

According to the product specs, that model has 8 GHz LPDDR5-5500 MHz RAM, which means that it is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

HP Laptop 17-cp2124od Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

If you look at the parts list, the motherboard shows it comes with 8 GB of memory and there is no separate memory part number.

HP PartSurfer

You may want to look into an entirely different model because all of the notebooks in that model series only come with 8 GB of soldered RAM.

See chapter 1 of the service manual:

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

IMHO, 8 GB of memory is not enough in today's day and age.

Thank You Paul,  HP really does not make it easy to find a answer to a basic question, Be nice if HP took time to explain or just say NO UPGRADE available.  I now have to send the laptop back, no more HP.
