I am planning on buying this laptop, however the 512gb ssd doesn't seem enough so I want to upgrade it. Does it have another ssd slot or do I need to remove the existing one and replace it?

Hi:
The notebook only has one M.2 slot for a SSD, so if you want more storage, you will need to remove the 512 GB NVMe SSD and replace it with one having a greater storage capacity.
The information in the service manual is contradictory.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
Chapter 1 indicates one M.2 SSD is supported.
But if you look at chapter 5, page 32, it indicates that the notebook supports two NVMe SSD's.
However, if you look at the service teardown video, it clearly shows that there is no M.2 SSD on the left side of the notebook as shown in the service manual.

You get a good view of that if you watch the procedure on how to remove the system fans.
