We need the model number to know what internal hardware is installed now and any possible upgrade options. Generally, there is no capacity limit on storage drives. You can install whatever you find in the market, as long as it is a compatible form factor (2.5 inch or M.2) and technology (SATA or NVME) for your specific laptop.
