How much maximum RAM is supported in HP 15-AC120TU. It has 2 ram slots. As per the manual/maintenance PDF, it is mentioned that Memory module can support upto 8gb of ram. So that means 8GB maximum (for both slots, TOTAL), or 8gb maximum per slot?

Windows users can determine the maximum RAM capacity in the Command prompt (Run as Administer) with the command here- "wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity" without the quotes and divide the value by 1024

That is giving me the amount 16777216/1024 = 16384 so does that means total 16 gb (8+8 in every slot) can be inserted/installed in my laptop 15-ac120tu?

Hi:

 

The service manual is incorrect regarding the max memory you can install.

 

The manual indicates the max is 2 x 4 GB, or 1 x 8 GB.

 

Since the notebook has two memory slots and you can install an 8 GB memory chip in one slot, then you can install another 8 GB memory chip in the second slot as well.

 

The Crucial memory report for the model # also indicates you can install 2 x 8 GB of memory and the windows report you ran also confirms that to be correct.
