I am trying to see what is the max amount of Ram my dv6-6c16nr with an intel i7-2670QM can take.

Hi:

 

Your PC can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR3-1333 MHz memory.

 

If you have a problem finding that memory, usually DDR3L-1600 memory will work too and automatically bridge to 1333 MHz.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.  Chapter 1, page 5 has the memory upgrade information.
