Crucial is not different enough to make any difference. The original memory is likely Samsung or Hynix. Crucial is a chip maker. They buy the little memory blocks from one of only a couple suppliers in the world and assemble the modules. Crucial is actually a division of Micron. So trust me I have done this many many times and if you read the materials I linked for you and follow the advice you will be fine. Your laptop has two slots. Memory is not soldered. Add the module I linked to what you have and its 8 gigs dual channel. OK???

See p. 2 of the Manual:

Manual

The laptop supports dual channel but in order to get it you need to have 2 modules. Right now you have one. If you install a second 4 gig "like kind" (not identical necessarily) you will have 8 gigs of memory running in dual channel.

Pages 38-44 detail "how to" on adding memory.

Memory module, 4 GB 862397-855

Supported memory is DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM.

This would work fine for you:

Post back with any other questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
