I recently bought the M120 Wireless mouse. It doesn't show up on the HP accessory center and thus i want to know how to configure the side buttons.
I would like to know the process of connecting the M120 wireless mouse to my laptop.

Hi @RaghavBhutani,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To configure and connect your HP M120 Wireless Mouse, here’s what you need to do:
1. Connecting the HP M120 Wireless Mouse to Your Laptop
Using the USB Receiver:
- Locate the USB Receiver: The HP M120 Wireless Mouse typically comes with a USB receiver. It’s usually stored inside the mouse (you may need to open the battery compartment to find it).
- Insert the Batteries: Open the battery compartment of the mouse, insert the required batteries, and close the compartment.
- Plug in the USB Receiver: Insert the USB receiver into an available USB port on your laptop.
- Turn on the Mouse: There should be a small switch at the bottom of the mouse. Flip it to the "On" position.
- Automatic Pairing: The mouse should automatically connect to your laptop. You should be able to move the cursor and use the mouse buttons immediately.
2. Configuring the Side Buttons on Your HP M120 Wireless Mouse
Unfortunately, the HP M120 Wireless Mouse may not be supported by the HP Accessory Center, which is used to configure advanced features for certain HP peripherals. However, you can still configure the side buttons using the built-in Windows settings or third-party software:
Using Windows Settings:
Open Settings:
- Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse.
Additional Mouse Options:
- On the right side, click on Additional mouse options.
Button Configuration:
- In the Mouse Properties window, you may find options to configure the mouse buttons depending on your version of Windows. Unfortunately, side buttons often need more specialized software for custom configurations.
3. Troubleshooting
- Ensure Proper Connection: If the mouse is not connecting, try moving the USB receiver to another port or restarting your laptop.
- Check for Drivers: Sometimes, Windows will automatically download drivers, but if it doesn’t, visit the HP Support website to check if there are any drivers available for the M120 Wireless Mouse.
- Battery Issues: If the mouse is unresponsive, check to ensure that the batteries are correctly inserted and charged.
- Connect the mouse using the provided USB receiver and ensure it is turned on.
- Configure the side buttons using Windows settings or third-party software like X-Mouse Button Control.
- Troubleshoot connection issues by trying different USB ports or checking for necessary drivers.
