I'd like to max out the memory in my laptop.

 

I tried crucial.com's upgrade tool but nothing turned up.

I've searched google -- no luck.

 

According to this page on Walmart,  Maximum RAM Supported 16 Gigabytes

How can I figure out if the memory is upgradable and what type of ram?

Hi, thanks for the link. 

I thought for sure this scan would yield results but, I still got the "sorry" message.

I did find the correct item on that product compatibility page tho after reading the specs and manual on the HP.com

 My laptop service manual states to replace both memory sticks with equal memory so, I'll need 2 x 8gb sticks. which is the max ram for my machine. 

yay solved. 🙂
