My chargers are not working and I can’t seem to find what to order for my 2018 spectre x360 13t touch laptop. Seems difficult to find what works with this laptop. I just need the correct charger! And what’s the difference between a charger and an adaptor? Thanks!

Hi:
What is the product number of your notebook?
The parts list shows different power adapters based on the product number.
The terms 'power adapter' and 'charger' are used interchangeably.

Thanks! Where did you find that page? I went round and round. Product number is 2VV46AV
there are a bunch of options when I choose that and then look through product options. Not sure what it all means. Like exempt. Etc.
also, wondering if the problem might be inside the laptop where the plug goes in, and not actually the charger/adapter gone bad. When I adjust the cord at a certain angle, it charges. What to do? Thank you!!

You're very welcome.
Unless you knew the HP part surfer website existed, it would be difficult to find.
Here is the parts list for your notebook's product number.
You need the following charger/adapter:
L32392-001 | AC adapter (65W) - nPFC USB-C RC 1.8m |
It could be a loose internal connection if wiggling the charger pigtail gets the notebook to charge.
I am not a PC repair tech by trade or training, so I recommend you try and figure out a way to rule out the charger being the problem, so you don't throw good money after bad.
It could also be a broken wire within the cord that goes to the connector that plugs into your notebook.
If you determine the charger is bad, what I recommend you do is to go on eBay and find a genuine used but tested and working HP charger as the used ones often come with the power cord that goes from the wall socket to the charger.
Otherwise, you also have to order the power cord separately.
L36822-001 | Power cord - C5 1.0M FDH STICKER Prm NA |
The ROHS Compliant/Exempted/Duty-To-Declare has to do with restriction of Hazardous Substances and impacts the entire electronics industry and many electrical products as well.
The charger is on back order from HP and so is the power cord.

Not to mention they cost a small fortune new.

Wow SO helpful!
I tried another charger and it also needs to wiggle to get to the spot where it charges so I’m guessing it’s not 2 faulty chargers? (I don’t know if they are adaptors or chargers). They both came with 2 parts. The wall plug to a box and a cord from the box that gets plugged into the laptop.
If the problem is inside the laptop where the cord gets plugged in, who can help or repair?

Hi:
I recommend you take the notebook to an authorized HP repair center nearest to where you live, because I have no idea what will be involved to fix the loose internal connection.
