How do I fix my hard drive short dst? It failed. Buy a new one or take it to a shop? If buy a new one recommendation please.

Does your old drive work at all? If yes then a shop may be able to mirror all your data onto the new drive, saving you the time and energy of reinstalling.  Personally, with the cost of SSD drives being so low now, I would not even consider a old style drive in a laptop. Western Digital makes so nice affordable SSD drives that will direct replace any SATA drive.

The laptop turns on but can’t pass the trouble shot and recovery area, is that consider working? I am not too good  at that.  If not should I still take it to shop or just buy new Ssd and Install it? Thanks for your helpful response
