Hi @Pirka ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering error code 0xA00F4244 on your HP ENVY x360 laptop running Windows 11 Home 23H2, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  • Check Camera Privacy Settings: Make sure that the camera privacy settings are enabled. In Windows 11, you can do this by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera. Ensure that "Allow apps to access your camera" is turned on.
  • Update Camera Drivers: Outdated or corrupted camera drivers can cause issues with camera functionality. Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu), locate the camera device under "Imaging devices" or "Cameras", right-click on it, and select "Update driver". Follow the prompts to search for and install updated drivers.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, Windows updates include fixes for hardware compatibility issues. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates. Install any pending updates and then restart your computer.
  • Run the Hardware Troubleshooter: Windows has built-in troubleshooters that can automatically detect and fix common hardware issues. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot, select "Hardware and Devices", and run the troubleshooter.
  • Check Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with camera functionality. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and check if the camera starts working. If it does, you may need to adjust the settings of your antivirus software to allow camera access.
  • Reset Camera App: If you're using the default Camera app, try resetting it. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features, find the Camera app, click on it, and select "Advanced options". Then click on "Reset" to reset the app.
  • Check for Physical Hardware Issues: Ensure that there are no physical obstructions covering the camera lens. If your laptop has a physical camera shutter, make sure it's not closed.
