How to get new battery for HP Spectre x360 13 ap007a laptop

System messages/tests are telling me I need a new battery for the above.

a) Can I buy one and change it myself (as I've been able to do with all previous laptops, which were Dell)? Have been unable to find the battery that fits this device in the HP Parts Store. 

or:

b) Does the device have to be returned to HP to have one fitted? I.e. is it a factory sealed unit? I'm thinking this must be the case, which is a pain.

It appears that the battery for your HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0007na (5EQ72EA), as per: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5PX2yDkRp0, and: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kw414-g-Yt8, is serviceable/replaceable.

The aforementioned YouTube video clips show a "CP03XL" battery. A purchase example for this battery model for you would be: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASKC-13-ae049ng-13-ae040ng-13-ae006no-13-ae001ng-Black/dp/B08YRFCJ9B/ref=sr....

However, according to: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=L28764-005, the battery model for your HP Spectre x360 - 13-apxxxx is listed as an "SP04XL" with p/n: L28764-005 "Battery 4C 61Wh 3.99Ah LI SP0". A purchase example for this particular battery for you would be: https://www.amazon.co.uk/13-ap0001ns-13-ap0050ng-13-ap0001nl-HSTNN-OB1B-HSTNN-IB8R/dp/B0C33PXCCR/ref....

These battery models are very similar, but obviously it is one or the other.

Point is, remove the back panel and observe what battery model it is you need. If I had to guess, probably the SP04XL model.
