I have used the Virtual Agent to solve this issue. It has been to no avail because the laptop is out of warranty. After spending hours and asking to speak to a person, I am always directed ti the Community. My computer works intermittently with the installed hard drive vicariously. Diagnostic tests reports that the drive is OK, but then reports that it has issues. I want to replace but can't find the drive in parts. PLEASE ADVISE!!

I have gone through your Post and would like to help
Did you run the Hard drive Test from F2 Diagnostic?
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Hard drive
If you wish to replace the Hard drive you can refer to the Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04763031 for list of compatible Hard drives with Spare part no
Thank you
