My Elitebook has 8GB of memory.

Will I get better performance if I upgrade to 16GB?

How to do this? Do i just order an additional 8GB memory card and insert it in the free slot? Which card is best? Are there any software settings to be changed once the card is inserted?

Yes, you will get better performance by not only having more memory, but the memory will also run in the better performing dual channel mode instead of the single channel mode it is currently running in now with only one memory chip.

 

You can order the same memory you ordered to replace the defective one you had.

 

Nothing else is required but to add the memory.

 

16 GB will automatically be recognized.
