Hello Everyone,
I have this machine with such powerful features with Intel Core i7-7500U (2.70 GHz, 4 MB L3 Cache, up to 2.90 GHz), 1TB HDD all original parts when I bought. But since the first setup they did at store when they have prepared the computer for me, it is very much laggy and freezy. Also the Operating system loading time is around 140 seconds minimum.
First I have replaced the ram inside, which was a 4GB memory. I replaced with 2 x 8 GB and now have 16GB memory. But no improvement on bootup time or lagging at all.
When I connect a usb flash, it takes about 3 mins to realize and when I try opening the pics in it, every 1 in 3-4 pictures it is lagging.
So then I started digging to the forums and found out that FAst startup and hibernate shall be disabled, so I did. THere is a slight improvement in performance but not satisfactory. Boot up around 120 seconds. Lagging , freezing remains.
Then I installed every suggested update through HP support assistant, with no luck.
Now I am down to buying a new M.2 256 GB SSD to improve it all. If that does not work, I will just be so much angry as I have paid tones of dollars to the unit, and it is crap with factory configuration.
Here is my manual... And it states that there is an M.2 slot on the machine, but I couldnt't find it though. Attached you may see what I have.
Can someone please guide me through here?
What would be the suggestion and fixup? I have already done the service visit to HP with no luck in performance at although stated that was improved.
That's what I have... Service couldn't help.

Sorry but that is the battery connector.
In that case, considering that I have perused similar ultrabooks with the same codename (Souffle 1.10, your specific model is not upgradeable with an M.2 SSD.
Sorry to bear bad news for your M.2 SSD upgrade wish.
You can upgrade the legacy HDD to an 2.5" sata SSD. It will be a vast improvement in performance.

I pointed out where the M.2 SSD slot should be in your image. I don't see a screw to hold an M.2 SSD in place nor the corresponding screw hole. It may be underneath the piece covering the card reader board. Your ultrabook may not be M.2 SSD upgradeable.
