I have been trying to find out if my HP Pavilion 15-cs0058od can charge using USB-C. I tried looking this up before and was able to find the specs for the laptop, which said "1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge)" but then when I bought a third party docking station that connects and charges over USB-C it would not charge. My PC is past warranty so HP will not answer the question.
This could be a docking station that is not compatible for charging or it could be a laptop that does not charge via USB-C. Or, if there is some setting to enable charging that would be good to know as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chapter 1, page 4 of the service manual indicates the USB-C port supports data transfer only.

If the port supported charging that would have been indicated in the manual.
There are two levels of USB-C charging offered in various model HP notebooks that have the feature.
One level supports charging of small devices such as cell phones, and the higher-level supports charging the notebook with a supported USB-C power adapter.
