Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find the BIOS chip on an HP Pavillon 15-cs0601ng notebook and could use some guidance.

My question is mainly about the physical location of the chip:

  • Is the BIOS chip located on the same side as the bottom cover (after removing the lower case of the notebook)?
  • Or is it on the other side of the motherboard, directly under the keyboard, meaning the board would need to be removed or flipped over?

If anyone has experience with this specific HP 15-cs series or has done BIOS flashing/repair on it, I’d really appreciate any tips, photos, or service manual references.

Thanks in advance for your help!

This is what the bios chip looks like.  I looked here and spotted 4 possible chip.

you will have to examine each of the 4 possible chips and lookup the code or markings to identify if it is a ROM bios or something else.

I assume you have a problem. What have you tried to do so far.

The below is all know about bios flashing  Hope I am not oversharing.

A few BIOS's can have missing microcode put back in or whitelists removed but it is not recommended. Check at the following sites.

You can replace the bios, replace the motherboard or possibly program the chip using a 341 programming tool.

Thank you .

I tried many things, including the common key combinations, as well as a USB BIOS recovery.

I will try a 341 Tool.

I will post a Picture of the Mainboard

Google lens reports that as a transceiver chip for Wi-Fi.  Note that Google's AI can make mistakes like any human.

Try using google lens on any square chip with total of 8 pins

Let me know how it works.

Yes, that is the BIOS!!!
