Envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought an HP Envy x360.  I have trouble powering it up.  The power button is on the left side of the notebook.  If it has been turned off for a while, pressing the button has no effect.  Open the lid, and after several short and long presses eventually the white light in the middle of the button turns on and the notebook boots up.  There seems to be no logic to how to get the button to operate?  I have seen by googling this problem that others have it too, but I have found no solution.

(If the notebook has been off for only a short time, then the button operates immediately)

I have gone through your Post and I understand your concerns

Try updating the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

If the issue persists I suggest you get the Notebook replaced since it is brand new

Thank you

Thank you.  The laptop did a Bios update by itself a couple of days after I found this problem and now it seems to be working OK - doesn't get hot when charging and the power button works straight away.  Strange that the product was sold in that non-functional state, but hopefully OK now.  Thanks for your help.
