Microsoft Windows 11

I have a problem with a Windows 11 update for the Synaptis touchpad driver that installs itself without asking for permission and then causes the touchpad to not work. How can I prevent it from installing so I can somehow tell Windows not to offer that update again? It is version 19.0.12.98 I uninstall it from the control panel and install version 15 of Windows 7, which does work but over and over again it installs version 19.0.12.98 without asking, which is the one causing the problem (with this version only work when restart windows, but if shotdown windows only works key funtions, the other keys and touchpad not work.

And here's a link to a video I made showing how it's reinstalled without me being able to prevent it. If I turn off the computer after this, neither the keyboard nor the touchpad work, and I have no choice but to connect a mouse or keyboard to restart and temporarily resolve the problem until I pay for it again, and the problem occurs again

Windows Update reinstall driver dont'work without ask me

It also doesn't give you the option to uninstall it like other updates. I can only go to the control panel and uninstall it, but when I check for updates again, the **bleep** update reinstalls itself.

I could hide other updates from installing, but this one won't let me.

No option to hide or desinstalla update

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks.

You're very welcome.

That utility should prevent the TouchPad driver from reinstalling.

First download and unzip the Micrsoft Hide Windows Update utility that I zipped up and attached below.

Then uninstall the offending touchpad driver.

Right after you uninstalled the driver, run the Hide Windows update utility.

It should find the touchpad driver waiting to be reinstalled.

Check the box to hide the update.

The utility will run again and report that the problem is 'Fixed.'

Close out of the utility and you should not be bothered with that problem again.

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow. As for the details of the problem, I already mentioned it in another post we discussed, but I'll detail the sequence of the problem:

1. Windows 11 installs the Synaptic touchpad driver without prompting, prompting to restart.
2. You restart and everything works fine, you continue working.
3. You turn off the laptop and forget about it.
4. Later, you turn on the laptop and neither the keyboard nor the touchpad work. You can't do anything to log in since you can't enter the PIN or password, and you can't shut down or restart. The only option is to use another mouse or keyboard  extern and log in to see what's happening. I go to the Device Manager and no conflicts appear. The keyboard "doesn't seem to be working," but the first row with the function keys does. They only do what is marked for pressing the fn key, such as raising and lowering the brightness (i.e., the keyboard is recognized and working, but it doesn't send numbers, keys, or other symbols).
5. At this point, since I have no other option, I restart the laptop.
6. After restarting, everything works, but when I shut down the computer, I return to point 3.
7. After much thought, I uninstalled the Synaptec Touchpad driver from the Control Panel, under Uninstall Programs, and the problem disappears. I don't even need the driver because everything seems to work fine without it.
8. The problem is that When you enter Windows Update and click on "Check for updates", the driver suddenly appears again and without asking me if I want to download and install the update, it starts doing so, which takes us back to step 1.
