I need to recover data from the SSD type hard drive. The problem is that I have broken the connection to the motherboard. I am currently installing the gum stick drive to utilize the existing motherboard. How do you recover the data from the hard drive while it’s disconnected?

Yes -- that product works with SATA SSDs, jut not with M.2 or NVME SSDs.

First of all, let's get our terms straight.  There are Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) and Solid State Drives (SSDs) -- there are no SSD hard drives.

So, is this an SSD that looks like a notebook drive?  Or is this an SSD that looks like a memory stick?

You have to buy an adapter that connects the SSD to a USB port on a working PC.  Once you do that, you can then read the filesystem on the SSD and recover data from it onto the working PC.  Below is an illustration of an adapter used for the SSDs that look line notebook drives:

Yes this is an SSD that looks like a notebook type drive. So the product you recommend will work?

Help! I have cloned the SSD hard drive with the SATA connector to the new M.2 NVME drive. I used the Apricorn EZ Clone software to do this. It stated complete with no errors and the instructions state to place it into your machine and start. It is supposed to start up as if it was the original but does not. The laptop starts with the blue Automatic Repair screen? I go to advanced settings recovery manager and run though the reset procedures. Recovery manager says Restoration Incomplete. I don’t know how to proceed?
