Pavilion 15-r029wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I'm trying to clean my vents. I've removed the screws and battery but the back won't come off!!!! Are there hidden screws? Also it doesn't have a service panel which is weird.

The back does not actually come off. You take all the screws out and then start removing keyboard and parts from the top. The design of the Pavilion 15 series is not user friendly. Much better off to just pick up a can of compressed air and blow out all of the vents and ports.

The video here on upgrading memory shows the dis-assembly of the Pavilion 15:

Yes I saw the video. I just said screw it to be honest. I will just go with the compressed air option. I'm getting a new laptop soon anyway. It's just been slowing down a lot and the vents have never been cleaned cuz I didn't know how. I've had it 3-4 years thank you for the information.

Compressed air to be sure it is clean and getting good airflow is the place to start. However the laptop starting to have slow performance could be several other things. Your hard drive may be starting to fail and needs to be replaced-ugh,remember the video?

Immediately after powering on start tapping the Esc key. This will open a menu where F2 System Diagnostics is an option. Tap F2 key and run the tests.

It could also simply need a fresh install to perk up- System Recovery:
