Good day, i currently have a physical ram of 4gb and only 3.0gb is usable.

i would like to remove that 1gb reserved memory or change it to half since i would be using a little over the 3.0gb usable memory.

i have tried:
1. msconfig
2. clearpagefileatshutdown

i havent tried memory hole remapping because i cant seem to find it in my bios. please help me.

Hello,

So have you tried msconfig boot tab advanced options and unchecking maximum memory?

yes i have tried unchecking it. it did nothing.

That's odd, are you able to remove a memory stick and see if there is still reserved memory? That would tell us if there is an issue or not with the software.

as of now, i had removed the ram and installed again. (couldn't turned on the laptop if i would switch it to the other port).

Results as follow:

*instead of having 4gb installed (3gb usable) it now only states 2.99gb installed.

*task manager still detects the 4gb ram but the resource monitor only detects 3gb installed.

please help me i think this has gotten worse 😕

UPDATE: it seems the ram got to 3.5gb usable. so im quite fine with this. THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT 🙂 hopefully this would be of help

WHAT I DID:

1. removed the ram (though this one seems to be of no use) and returned it again

2. turned the laptop on

3. went to the device manager tried to uninstall an unknown driver (dont really know what was it)

4. desperately tried to go to msconfig and uncheck once more the processor and memory.

5. shut it down

6. turned it on again and went to the BIOS

7. tried to check once more if there is an option to enable memory hole remap

8. randomly saved the settings and waited it to boot.

9. went to task manager and went crazy happy with the extra memory 🙂
