Shut off your laptop and plug it in to the charger.

    Close the Lid
     
  • 3
    Flip your iBook upside down, or hold it vertical.
     
  • 4
    Look for an unlocking slot on the front right.
     
  • 5
    Use a coin to turn it to 'unlocked'.
     
  • 6
    Press a small grey button. 1-4 lights will turn on. These light represent battery power, and reset it in case your computer has the wrong reading.
     
  • 7
    Slide out the battery.

I'm glad I'm not the only one out there that was having a problem.  How stupid was that HP ?? They probably can sell more parts and pieces this way !!
