Hi,

I removed the phillips M2.0 x 2.5 screw  that secures the optical drive in the computer and it doesnt want to come out.

I even removed all of the screws from the cover and the optical drive still sits in the laptop.

I have disassembly instructions, followed them: didnt work

removed all 14 screws: didnt work

removed all screws and popped all latches still cant move the optical drive and still cant take the cover off

See the YouTube  below. Push in the finger nail between the drive's front bezel and  the bottom plate's edge and apply a little bit of force to pull it out of the laptop. Still not come out? Apply more force.

Below is your manual. page 35 shows how to remove the optical drive and p 43 illustrates the replacement of memory. There are a lot of YouTube videos about how to replace/install RAMs on your model if you need.

Just wanted to let you know -- if you are removing the optical drive to replace it with an HDD or SDD -- that is a really BAD idea.  The bandwidth of the connector is so low that any HDD or SDD is going to have such low throughput as to be all but useless.

I would never guess it needed THIS much force.
