Hello, I decided to replace the hard drive since it failed the short DST. I need to get one soon. Can anyone direct me to finding the right one for my laptop please. I would like to upgrade a little in the process. Thanks

Hi:
You can replace the failed 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" SATA solid state drive.
I recommend this model and you can click on any of the other capacities offered if you don't want to replace it with a 1 TB capacity like your notebook came with.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you install the new hard drive, you can use the HP cloud recovery tool on another PC running W7 64 bit or newer and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
Your PC's product number is: 4JB82UA#ABA
