Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA installed on the PC. And your computer Support for M.2 SATA storage. Refer http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04691689 to 2 Chapter 1 Product description.

HP does not recommend to use Third party hardware or drive as they are not tested by HP and may not be accurate. However, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.

Hi,

strange, but my laptop is a little different, in particular I have two disks, SSD 128 Gb and Sata 1Tb

All specifications are here:

Can you tell please which drive is better and why?

512 ГБ SSD M.2 HP EX950 [5MS22AA#ABB]  or 500 ГБ SSD M.2 Samsung 970 EVO Plus [MZ-V7S500BW] ?

If I replace ssd will it create unnecessary stress on the battery?

Sorry, but can you answer a few more questions?

1. If I replace ssd will it create unnecessary stress on the battery?

2. 512 ГБ SSD M.2 HP EX950 has it been tested to work on this laptop?  Hi good or bad ?

3. Сan you recommend another SSD with high read / write speed?

4. Does my motherboard and laptop specifications support these speeds?

Maximum sequential read speed (MB / s)
3500 MB / sec
Maximum sequential write speed (MB / s)

@Alexander555

I understand your concerns.

Replacing the SSD will not harm the battery.

HP has not tested the 512 ГБ SSD M.2 HP EX950.

SSD will have different manufacture. You can install any brand,

According to the manual,

Your product support Dual Storage &Configuration

● 2 TB + 128 GB value SSD

● 1 TB + 256 GB PCIE SSD

● 1 TB + 128 GB value solidstate drive (SSD)

To check the speed of the SSD you have to install the third-party software.

I would suggets you conatct our phone support and check.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
