Hi everyone, First of all before I start I just want to say I've spent 2 days searching the web for an answer to this question with no luck. Hope to find a good answer here. I have an old HP Pavilion DV7 laptop that I want to reuse the webcam module from as an external USB webcam. I've seen alot of wiring solutions but none match what I have. The module part # is 639387-001 and replacement part #682197-240. The 6 wire colors in order are Green, White, Orange, Red, and smaller gauge brown and black twisted. Can anybody give me the correct pinout for these wires? I need to know the +5, D+, D-, and ground so I can hook to USB wire. Sorry so long but if anybody can help with this it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading,
Scott

I am not HP.!
why not buy a new camera on fleabay for like $5-$7
and learn that that old camera only works on the origional PC, it has its own USB port , you know that right?
why would the driver work on an alient PC< from HP, it will not.
why do this. to save $5?
You did not say the target system.
what PC,
dv7-xxxxx what is xxxxx ?
see this.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/identify?q=dv7&filter=&devicetype=laptop
what DV7, the list is near endless.
and what is the target PC.?
what OS is the TARGET PC
you do know that microsoft driver CATALOGS online will not match up HP old cam to a newer PC right?
looks like the driver goes up to w7 only.
the last one DV7-7100 goes to w8. but not below w7.
please tell 2 things first, what is the DV7-xxxxx dash number off the service tag
what is the target system.?
