So, I know there are apps for it, but I don't really want to use an app, so how can I screen record on my hp chromebook? It doesn't have a windows key, so I can't use what google says to do and I have the "hp chromebook x360" if that helps at all. Figured out a few minutes after posting that it was related to how I screenshot, so I know what to do now!

Hi @cleese74,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm glad to hear that you figured it out! On a Chromebook, capturing a screen recording is indeed related to the screenshot functionality. Here's a quick guide on how to do it.

  • Press the "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "Switch window" keys simultaneously. The "Switch window" key is usually located in the top row, and it looks like a rectangle with two lines on its right side.
  • Once you press these keys, your cursor will turn into a crosshair.
  • Click and drag to select the area of the screen you want to record.
  • Release the click, and your Chromebook will start recording the selected area.
  • To stop the recording, click on the notification that appears in the bottom right corner of your screen.
  • The recorded video will be saved in the "Downloads" folder.

Please note that this method might vary slightly depending on your specific Chromebook model and the version of Chrome OS it's running. If you encounter any issues or if your Chromebook has a different key layout, you may want to refer to the official documentation or support resources for your specific model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
