I already thought I asked this question but now can’t find it anywhere. The power button on my laptop broke. I cant find anyone in town to fix it. The Geek Squad says they don’t do this type of repair, and even a place I got from hp support says they don’t do this and would have to send it out.
It is the type of button that has to be soldered back on. I can’t even find this particular button available to buy on line even if I can figure out how to solder it on myself. I’ve watched many YouTube videos but none will show that.
ive been on hold with hp support and the line is just silent so I’m not sure that is even working. I have a major exams in a week and don’t have time to be without my computer for 3 weeks or so. Doubt I will ever buy another HP product.
Does anyone know how to help me?

Hi @Allisax23,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!
