How to turn off screen on HP Mini 110-3530NR

How to turn off screen on HP Mini 110-3530NR while using Windows Media Player.   I want to play the music with the screen off.   I have tried :

"Open Control Panel.  Navigate to Hardware and Sound.  Select Power options.  Select Choose what the power buttons do on the left side.  Choose Turn off the display for When I press the power button.  You can then also adjust sleep timer settings. "

It doesn't work.  There is no option for the  HP Mini to turn off the screen under the power options.

In Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options and click the "Choose what closing the lid does"

Krazy Toad 313021 Closing Lid doesn't work
Dear Krazy Toad, the Closing Lid option doesn't work. Remember, what I want to do is to continue playing Media Player with the screen black. The options for settings when I close the lid are:
Do nothing; Sleep; Hibernate; Close down

There must be some way to shut off the screen while still playing songs.
