I bought HP StorageWorks RDX1000e and one removable disk cartridge capacity 500GB. I used it some times, but now I just want to use hard disk 2.5" from removable disk cartidge, for another hard disk drive in my deskop computer.
Is it possible, because I cannot initialize that hard disk in disk management?
When I try to initialize that hard disk into disk management I get the following error message "data error. cyclic redundancy check"
Is disk locked or what?
Please help anyone , thanks

Hello karinjo,
You want to initialize your disk drive and you keep getting an error.
You may corrupt data on the hard drive.
You need to run the chkdsk application.
Here is a link that will walk you through the steps to correct the error.
Let me know how everything goes.
Have a good day.

that hard disk is not visible in any computer and there is no drive letter for that disk, so I cannot run chkdsk.
When I put that disk in hp cartridge, everything is ok, I can view that removable storage. But problem is when I use hard disk without hp removable cartridge.
