HP Probook 440 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My notebook has a DVD socket, while it was empety, so I use an external DVD RW Writer. When I pluged in the USB line, the DVD couldn't be found in notebook, from the manual, it was said, I need to enable the Serial Peripheral in COMS, but I couldn't find the feature.

Where could I find it ?

Normally machines will see external Optical Disc Drive (ODD or CD/DVD drive) AUTOMATICALLY. In your case, the device may be too old or very new, you need to install its driver. Please go to its support site to download and install driver for it.
