Hi @Anhelina,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
here are some general steps you can follow to update the firmware of an SK Hynix BC511 SSD.
Step 1: Check current firmware version.
- Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type "msinfo32" and press Enter to open the System Information window.
- Under "Components," click on "Storage," then select "Disks."
- Look for your SK Hynix BC511 SSD and note the firmware version.
Step 2: Check for firmware updates.
- Go to the official HP support website (hp.com/support) or SK Hynix's website (skhynix.com) and search for your specific laptop model and the SSD model (BC511).
- Look for the latest firmware update for the BC511 SSD. If there's a newer version available, download it to your computer.
Step 3: Backup important data.
- Before proceeding with the firmware update, make sure to back up any critical data on your SSD to prevent data loss in case anything goes wrong during the update process.
Step 4: Install the firmware update.
- Close all running applications to avoid conflicts during the update.
- Run the downloaded firmware update executable file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the update. Be patient and do not interrupt the process until it completes.
Step 5: Verify the firmware update.
- Once the update is finished, restart your laptop.
- After the system boots up, repeat Step 1 to verify that the firmware has been updated to the latest version.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
