HP Probook 650 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm using a HP Probook 650 G4 laptop, the model with the 256GB M.2 SSD. I was thinking of installing an internal HDD as well - is this a case where I just need to buy any 2.5 inch drive and install it, or do I need to buy a special piece of kit for this model as well (think I read something about needing a drive cover). If it turns out I do need to purchase something else, where would I be able to purchase it?

Hello @a-name

Welcome !

While this PC model is a configure to order and it may be ordered only with M2 drive, there is a slot available for HDD/SSD which are SATA type. I have not used G4 Probook 650 particuarly but I have used many other HP models and this is how it usually works.

You basically need to open the PC (bottom cover) and you should be able to see the slot available. You just need to buy the respective SATA HDD or SATA SSD and add it inside.

Check the service manual of your PC model (page 41/51) and see how to do it >> https://content.etilize.com/User-Manual/1048781959.pdf

Hope this helps. Looking forward for positive news.
