Hp 15-bs289wm battery issue

Hello! Power question. Ive got a HP 15-bs289wm. It will only charge when the unit is powered off. When it is powered on, it will not charge. Bought a new charger and it is the same. Is it the battery? And if so which battery do i need to purchase?

This could be an issue with the battery on the PC. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reinstalling Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager  

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.

Restart the computer and check.

If the issue persists, I recommend you update the BIOS, click here
