Hp 15-da0511sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello All,

I have a Hp 15-da0511sa with a HDD.

I want to upgrade it with a SSD. I have purchased a Samsung 970 Pro Nvme 2 (2280) SSD. This worked very well on another Hp 15-da0511sa (i upgraded the hhd to the ssd within the same laptop, no issue hence the choice of ssd)

I have an older laptop and have used the Samsung Data Migration software to copy its HHD to the new Samsung SSD.

I have installed the SSD into the Hp 15-da0511sa. It appers in disk management and in windows but not in BIOS, which therefore means i cant boot from it. The laptop continues to boot slowly from the HDD.

I have reviewed various forums online. Once suggested i physically remove tha HDD, so that it would have to boot from the SSD. I tried this, the screen simply read there was no operating system. I have them reinstalled the HHD.

Another has suggested i copy the Hp 15-da0511sa HHD to the SSD, and hopefully BIOS would recognise the SSD, and then I could re-copy the old laptop HHD onto the SSD, and then re-install it in the Hp 15-da0511sa, and it would then boot by default. I havent actually tried this yet.

Can anyone offer advice please? It seems something that should be straightforward yet I cannot find any solutions online.

Thank you in advance for your time
