I was wondering if it was possible to install an HDD/SSD into my HP 15-db1000ng since it came without one but I saw replacement Parts that come with the connector and ribbon cable which i would just need to install and insert a drive. My question now is would that be possible or does the motherboard miss components if the HDD/SSD port was missing from the factory?
Best regards Justricity

Hi:
It may be possible, but you will have to find and buy the necessary parts to install a 2.5" drive.
Below is the link to the service manual.
Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC
Chapter 3, page 27 has the parts/part numbers you need to install a 2.5" drive.
Hard drive bracket L20455-001
Hard drive connector board L20454-001
Hard drive/solid-state drive cable L20456-001
While you have not asked for my opinion regarding this subject, I believe it would be a whole lot easier and less expensive to replace the 256 GB NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.
Doing that would probably result in longer battery endurance between charges, and less heat generated due to adding a second drive.
