Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased this laptop 2 days ago. Straight out of the box it detects the ac adapter, but it is not charging my battery. I have done all updates to windows and my drivers that I can find. I have also done a forced reset several times, tried the recommended fixes in my device manager and nothing has worked. I used the Hp diagnostic tool for the battery and it says it is not detected.

I do have some updates for windows that still need to be installed, but the catch is that the battery needs to be charged to update them.
