Hp 250 g6 hard drive caddy replacment size

Hi my sister is buying a new laptop with a 250gb ssd. It comes with a dvd rw which i will replace with a drive caddy and 1tb drive. I have found conflicting information on the size. Do i need a 9.5mm caddy or a 12.7mm. I would wait till she had the laptop and just measure but she will be away for a month shortly after she gets the laptop so it would be useful if I could order the caddy now.

Hi,

No, it does not use 9.5mm nor 12.7mm. It uses 9mm. Manual says it supports

Fixed, serial ATA, 9.0-mm tray load
DVD+/-RW Double-Layer writer

Supports zero power optical drive
Supports M-disc

Yes i replaced the cd drive with a hdd.  I bought a 9mm caddy from ebay. The laptop must have a cd drive initially in order to do this. If the model is a version without the cd drive it cant  be done.

Do you have a M.2 SDD as main drive?

And what type of hdd did you put into the caddy?

The main drive was an ssd but im unsure how it was interfaced and i dont have the laptop with me at the minute as its my sisters. I installed a 1tb 2.5" seagate barracuda as its only 7mm thick and fit within the depth of the caddy.
