No need to upgrade the PSU.

The 310W power supply would be fine.

Both the i3-8100 and the i7-9700 are 65W processors.

Also is there a limit to how big of a m.2 ssd i can put in this model?

HP Recommended

The Berks motherboard can support both Intel 8th generation and 9th generation core processors such as the i7-8700 or the i7-9700.

You can install as large a capacity NVMe SSD you want as long as the drive is single-sided, so it fits in the M.2 slot.

The PCIe generation of the NVMe slot is 3.0.

If I were to upgrade to the i7 9700 would I need to upgrade the power supply from the 310 watt?
