Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi i own a Hp 840 g2 laptop, but i lost my charger and i find it hard to find one that is compatible. Till i buy a 45w can i use a 90W Input: 100-240v~1.5A(1,5A) 50-60Hz

Output:19v(19v) 4.74A(4.74A)

My old 45w charger:

Input: 100-240v~1.1A 50-60Hz

Output: 19.5v 2,05A

I've been told that the 90w can do damage to the motherboard, also i dont think the 90w one is a smart ac adapter.

Your help would be much appreciated, thank you.

That charger will work just fine.

That center pin means it is a SMART AC Adaptor.

It will only provide enough power (AMPS) that the laptop needs.
