HP Battery Alert

BIOS has detected that the capacity of the internal battery has been reduced. This may be caused by environmental factors such as low amblent operating temperature, or it could be due to aging of the battery pack. Operating your system in a warmer location or operating your unit for a while might resolve this condition. If the condition persists or if you have an older system, please contact IP service.

@Abinaya-04, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The "Primary Internal Battery (601)" error typically indicates that your laptop's main battery is experiencing issues. Here's how you can address this problem:

Steps to Resolve:

Power Cycle Your Laptop:

  • Shutdown your laptop.
  • Remove the battery (if removable) and disconnect the power adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Re-insert the battery, reconnect the power adapter, and power it back on.

Check Battery Health:

  • For HP laptops, use the HP Support Assistant software to check the battery's health. This tool provides details about your battery's status and whether it needs replacement.

Update BIOS:

  • Make sure your BIOS is updated to the latest version. You can find updates on the HP Support website by searching for your product model.

Replace Battery:

  • If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it may indicate that the battery is failing and needs to be replaced.
