Hi @Martin394,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand what’s happening, could you clarify a few things for me?

  • What exactly happens when you try to open HP Command Center?
(Does it not launch at all, does it crash, or does it show an error?)
  • Did Windows finish installing all updates after the reset?
  • Is this an HP Spectre x360, or another model in the Spectre line?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that often help:

1. Update Windows completely

After a reset, Windows sometimes needs several rounds of updates before HP utilities work correctly.

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update
  • Install everything available, including optional updates if they mention drivers.

2. Reinstall HP Command Center from HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant
  • Go to the My Devices section → choose your Spectre → Software & Drivers
  • Reinstall HP Command Center from there (this ensures the correct version for your model).

3. Check for BIOS and system drivers

Command Center relies on specific thermal, chipset, and graphics drivers.

  • In Support Assistant or the HP Support website, install updates for:
    • BIOS
    • Intel/AMD chipset drivers
    • Graphics drivers
    • HP System Event Utility (important for HP apps)

4. Reset HP Command Center

  • Open the Start Menu
  • Right-click HP Command Center → App settings
  • Scroll down and choose Reset

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

This can fix issues related to sensor data that Command Center reads.

  • Restart and press Esc, then choose F2 for diagnostics
  • Run a System Test or Component Test

If you can tell me what behavior you’re seeing when you launch the app, I can help narrow down the cause and guide you step-by-step.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Take care and have an amazing day ahead!

Thank you Deep_World for trying to help me. However, I previously tried all the steps that you have told me and it was still not possible for it to work. You previously asked me the following questions:

1. What exactly happens when I try to open Hp Command Center?

When I open it, it tells me that "The required Hp Service cannot be found. Please select download to install the Hp service. Restart your PC and install any windows updates if prompted." and I have tried to do that several times and it still didn't work

2. Did windows finish Installing all the updates after the reset?

I am not really sure if all the updates were installed after the reset. However, I did check the Windows Update in settings and it showed me that I am updated.

3. Is this an HP Spectre x360?

Yes my laptop is an HP Spectre x360 2 in 1 laptop.

The rest of the troubleshooting steps that you mentioned did not help because I had already tried it and nothing managed to work for the past few days. It would really help if you just sent me like a link where I can download the Hp Command Centre with the Hp Service in order to help me fix my laptop. Thank you for your help

Hi @Martin394,

Thank you for your response :

Based on the issue you’re seeing with HP Command Center, the next step is to reinstall it directly from the Microsoft Store.

Open the Microsoft Store on your laptop.

In the search bar, type “HP Command Center.”

Select the app from the results and choose Install.

Once the installation is complete, please restart your laptop.

Regards
