Hi,
For some time now I planned on upgrading my old laptops memory, been looking all over the internet after some info regarding the overclock Mhz and the downclock Mhz,or at least to find out if it's fixed at 1066 Mhz, if any of you have any information about that please don't be shy to share.
To not create confusion, the product name is CQ58-250SQ.
Thanks in advance and keep up with the good work, ive seen theres a nice comunity here.

Hi,
The specific technical explanation is that the FSB (front sidel bus) processor having your laptop is 1066 MHz for that reason although install compatible memory of 1600 or 1333 MHz automatically downgrade will make 1066 MHz.
Another thing you should consider is that the versions of Windows 7 32 bit (Home, Pro, Ultimate) support up to 4 GB of RAM, the exception is Windows 7 Starter which supports up to 2 GB, for more than 4GB needed 64-bit OS

E1-1200 1.40-GHz processor (1066-MHz memory speed, dual core, 18 W)
Supports up to 8192 GB of system RAM DDR3/1600-MHz (SODIMM DDR3)
DDR3/1333-MHz (DDR3/1600-MHz downgraded to DDR3/1333-MHz)
DDR3/1066-MHz (DDR3/1600-MHz downgraded to DDR3/1066-MHz)
Supports the following configurations:
● 8192-MB total system memory (4096×2; not supported on a 32-bit operating system)
● 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1 + 2048×1; not supported on a 32-bit operating system)
● 4096-MB total system memory (4096×1 or 2048×2)
● 2048-MB total system memory (2048×1)
